Fall wardrobe essentials

In Clothes on September 29, 2010 at 12:24 PM

1) Shearling jacket- an absolute must! Since it is so popular this season, the jacket can be found everywhere from high end stores to places like H&M. I have seen one i really liked from Zara a couple of days ago and it cost only $75. This one below is from Philip Lim, $1500

2) Unless you live in a tropical climate, a faux-fur vest can never be too much in your wardrobe. If you are fashion savvy, get a leopard vest. However, if too much leopard print scares you, go for something more neutral – like black, white or camel. This one below is from Adrienne Landau, $495

3) Anything with a fringe. I own a pair of black suede boots with a fringe that i bought in Europe. While I do get occasional weird looks from the people on street, mostly what I see is looks of approval from fellow fashionistas. If you aren’t feel the boots, get yourself a small clutch or a bag. These booties below is from Givenchy, $1800.

4) Lady like shoes. I am all for edgy open-toe booties and over the knee boots, but nothing says lady like a pointy toe shoe, a bow detail and a kitty heel. These shoes are from Isabel Marant, $620. 5) Chunky knit cardigan – an essential for girls living in colder climates. Protects from wind and looks trendy – sounds like a good combo to me ! This one is from G-Star, @240. 6) A full skirt +plaid – two dominant trends this fall and in the case with the skirt below (Ruffian, $895), we kill two birds at the same time!

7) Feathers – you can wear feathers on your skirt, on your bag and I think even on your shoes! This clutch is from Coach, $298.

Note: All of the items above have cheaper alternatives in high street stores (H&M, Zara, Forever 21, Selfidges, Topshop, Next, etc.)
